App of the Day: Roamz

Given how many social networks we have coming out of our ears, anything new has to offer something pretty extraordinary to get even a toehold. Enter Roamz. It claims a point of difference over the fact that it's location based — and it finds actual real-world things to do and see, rather than just blathering on about breakfast and toenails. It pulls content from Facebook, Foursquare, Instagram and Twitter to show what's going on around you. You can even select categories, so you can find music shows but leave out the sports, for instance. It's still in its infancy, but it looks quite handy for finding fun.
