App of the Day: Angry Birds Space

It's up, up and away as some very annoyed avians take to the final frontier.

Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.

Man, those birds sure know how to hold a grudge. I'm not even kidding. They're so disgruntled that they've now followed those perfidious pigs into space. Angry Birds Space's core gameplay is, of course, the same as the original Angry Birds: you slingshot your feathered fighters at the flimsy houses built by the pigs (we assume they fall over so easily because pigs have no opposable thumbs and therefore don't make good builders). Being in space, though, suddenly gravity works a bit differently, and you have to work with the gravitational force of asteroids to get the best demolitions. It really feels like a brand new game, and, if you're an Angry Birds fan, it's absolutely worth picking up.
