Fix for Aperture 1.0.1 persistently appearing in Software Update We previously reported that the Aperture 1.0.1 update, released last week, continues to appear in Software Update, even after the program has been successfully updated.

In our prior coverage, we noted that this problem is generally caused by the lack of an appropriate Receipt file -- in Aperture's case /Library/Receipts/Aperture1.0.1Update.pkg -- though users experiencing this problem report that file to indeed be intact.

It now appears that deleting Aperture's receipt file resolves this issue for some readers.

Drag the file /Library/Receipts/Aperture1.0.1Update.pkg to the trash, re-run Software Update and check for persistence of the update appearing. You may need to apply the update once more (through Software Update) after deleting the receipt file in order for it to no longer be displayed.

MacFixIt reader Doug writes:

"I also experienced the issue of the Aperture 1.0.1 update reappearing in Software Update repeatedly, but I think I fixed it on my machine. Aperture's receipt file is at /Library/Receipts/Aperture1.0.1Update.pkg, not ~/Library/Receipts/Aperture1.0.1Update.pkg. I had what appeared to be the proper receipt file, but I deleted it anyway and ran Software Update again. Aperture reinstalled, and now the problem seems to have gone away."

Problems exporting versions Meanwhile, we've received scattered reports from readers who are unable to export versions of files after the 1.0.1 update.

MacFixIt reader Muhammad writes:

"Aperture fails to export versions after I applied 1.0.1. Will export a master file, but does nothing when I try to export a version of a file. Rolling back the update fixed the problem for me. I'm going to wait for 1.0.2."
