Aperture 1.5.1 (#2): Resolved issues; Download RAW support update as well; more

Resolved issues Apple built a number of fixes into Aperture 1.5.1 that are not mentioned in the release notes. Among them:

  • A problem where exported images had distortion (namely lines superseding the image)
  • An extended delay when exiting full-screen mode

In addition, many users are corroborating Apple's claims of dramatically enhanced performance in some areas -- particularly when using the loupe.

Download RAW support update as well If you have a camera that is unsupported by Aperture or has problems on your current system configuration, make sure that you download the Digital Camera RAW Support Update [Intel or PowerPC]. The current update adds support for RAW files captured by the Canon Rebel XTi/400D, Nikon D80, and Pentax *ist DS.

Problems downloading with Firefox Some users are reporting problems downloading the Aperture 1.5.1 update through Firefox. One reader writes:

"Firefox told me 'there was an error  while evaluating Javascript for the package'"

In these cases, your best bet is to simply obtain the package using Safari or Software Update.
