AOL "fixes" Emailer Y2K bug; patches no longer needed

CNET staff
Dan Frakes received the following note from AOL, regarding Y2K problems with AOL mail received via Claris Emailer (see previous item and Y2K Report): "The new server code is rolled out across the board so all Emailer sessions will see the 4-digit date now."

Dan adds: "The problems between AOL and Emailer were that AOL's mail servers were sending two-digit years in message headers. AOL has apparently fixed their mail servers to send four-digit years, so Emailer should now work "out-of-the-box" with AOL, without the need for patches."
