Scientists have found a new way to help buff up the physiques of computer-animated characters.

Digital animators have typically constructed detailed skeletons and musculature for characters from the inside out. But researchers at Bournemouth University in England have developed a method based on the opposite approach, building muscles from the outside in, according to LiveScience.com.

Next, the researchers will investigate how to add fat to characters. Once again, art imitates life.
