An early burial for Hummer

GM is set to trash the Hummer brand soon. Here is a slideshow requiem for the soon to be extinct SUV brand, a collection of trashed and junked Hummers for your viewing amusement.

I was reading an Associated Press article recently about all the soon-to-be-defunct product lines produced by General Motors: Pontiac, Saab, and Saturn. But another brand that's been on the way out for a while now was making headlines again, as GM looks all set in its selling off the Hummer brand to China-based Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Corporation. While it's not officially official yet, unless something goes awry it looks to be a done deal and GM will have washed their hands of the tanking SUV line.

With General Motors metaphorically taking its Hummer brand out to the junkyard, I thought it would be appropriate to give Hummer an early send-off with a video slideshow of many a Hummer being trashed, crashed, and junked. Whether you prefer H1, H2, or H3, there's something for every Hummer lover here. And who besides a tree-hugging hippie doesn't love an oversize, gas-guzzling box on wheels? Apparently like Air Supply, GM is just "all out of love" for Hummer, so now's a good time as any to pay your final respects.
