Amazon Instant Video deal: 22 popular movies for $5 each
Today only, you can buy (not rent) movies like "The Dark Knight," "The Blind Side," and "The Matrix" for just five bucks apiece.
Want to rent a movie from Amazon Instant Video? Usually it'll cost you $4-5, depending on whether you choose the SD or HD version.
Today only, Amazon is letting you buy 22 popular movies for under $5 each.
And by "popular" I don't mean "Weekend at Bernies 2" and other Z-grade flicks you usually see at this price point. This sale includes Academy Award winners, personal favorites, and titles you'll find on AFI top-100 lists.
For example, you can get "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" for $4.98 apiece (or $3.99 for the SD versions). Other good choices for action fans: "300" and "The Matrix."
If you're into drama, check out "The Blind Side," "The Departed," "The Town," and one of my top-five favorite movies of all time, "The Shawshank Redemption."
Like classics? How about "Casablanca," "Gone with the Wind," and "Singin' in the Rain"? Like comedy? There's "The Hangover" and "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" (which I always thought was a little overrated, but to each his own). Got kids? Let 'em watch and rewatch "The Goonies" and "Happy Feet."
Like I said, there's some mighty good stuff here, and if you were to buy these flicks from, say, iTunes, most of them would cost you $15 each. (As of tomorrow, that's probably what they'll cost again on Amazon as well.)
Needless to say, if you're looking to expand your digital video library, this is a rare opportunity to score some big hits on the cheap.
