Alsoft releases DiskWarrior 1.0.3

CNET staff
Alsoft has released DiskWarrior 1.0.3. It features the following changes:
  • Other disk repair utilities use a repair method that can result in a directory that has no errors but is missing files. It was previously necessary to manually cause DiskWarrior to scavenge the directory to find any missing file data that was not written over by one of these utilities. DiskWarrior now automatically detects when file data is missing from a good directory and builds a new directory containing all available file data. [Note: This resolves an issue previously discussed on MacFixIt.]
  • DiskWarrior can now repair disks that were previously unrepairable by DiskWarrior and other disk repair utilities due to third party disk security software.
  • Some ejectable media can be configured to physically eject the media whenever the volume is unmounted from the desktop, even when there is no request for the media to be ejected, making these disks unrepairable. DiskWarrior can now repair these disks by preventing them from being physically ejected during directory rebuilding.
