All you need to know about the 'X-Men' movies in 3 minutes

Since the release of "X-Men" in 2000, there have been a total of seven movies focusing on Professor X, his nemesis Magneto, and the myriad mutants caught in their orbits. That's a total of 811 minutes, or about 13.5 hours, of mutant action. (Yes, I know you're marveling at my mutant-like ability to add up movie run times from IMDB.)

So what do you do if you've been living under a rock for the past 14 years and need to catch up on all seven films -- quick? You turn to Mashable's new TL;DW (Too Long; Didn't Watch) YouTube video: "Every 'X-Men' Film in Less Than Three Minutes."

There you'll learn such things as the fact that the X-Men movies are "really just 'The Woverine Show' co-staring the X-Men." One host also points out that there are quite a few "sub-par mutants," such as Gambit: "That's his power? He makes cards explode and he's got a stick?"

One of the finest parts of the short video happens when the hosts decide that there are too many mutants to cover in just three minutes, so they break them down into some pretty clever categories like: "Mutants Covered In Stuff," "The Disappearies," and "Guys Who Are Blue."

OK, so maybe you won't learn everything you need to know about more than a decade of mutant movies from this clip, but you're sure have a few good laughs. As every good X-Man knows, what's the good of saving the world if you can't a few laughs along the way. (Or, um, something like that.) Enjoy!
