Protestors at the upcoming Republican National Convention in New York City may get the feeling that someone is watching them. And it's not just the police officers on hand.

According to a report in New York Newsday, officers working the convention will be outfitted with special helmets that contain surveillance cameras. The cameras will be able to send video images back to a central command site, via handheld computers the officers will be carrying.

The paper said the service was also used during the Democratic Convention in Boston last month. The devices will be carried by officers from the Federal Protective Service, whose mission is to protect federal sites nationwide.
