AliasMenu conflict: a follow-up

AliasMenu conflict: a follow-up

CNET staff
Regarding yesterday's report of a problem with AliasMenu conflicting with both Stuffit Magic Menu and Carbon applications, Benoit Widemann, author of AliasMenu, offers this reply:

"There is no conflict with Carbon. There is indeed a conflict with Magic Menu. The menu bar dies horribly, filled with garbage characters. The crash appears more quickly in Carbon apps, but it can happen without Carbon. As you indicated, the workaround is to disable either Magic Menu or AliasMenu.

To keep both AliasMenu and the ability to stuff/unstuff the Finder selection, use the contextual menu instead of Magic Menu. Also, Stuffit Expander and DropStuff do not suffer from that conflict, which is strictly limited to Magic Menu."
