Using the AirPort without an AirPort-ready Mac Today's MRP has a feature titled "Using the AirPort without an AirPort-ready Mac." It describes in detail how to connect, find, and configure an AirPort Base Station if you don't have an AirPort-ready Mac, and offers tips on installing WaveLAN and SkyLINE PC Cards.

Update: Dial-up settings missing from AirPort Utility? An initial report that the AirPort utility does not allow you to access dial-up modem settings is (happily) incorrect. The solution is to go to the Internet tab (as implied by TIL article #58520) and select "Modem" from the "Connect Using" popup menu in the "Share Internet Connection" box. (Thanks, Eric Belsley.)

AirPort TIL articles modified? Apple lists virtually all TIL articles on the AirPort, including the critical TIL article titled "AirPort Base Station: How To Perform a Forced Reload" (#58502), as having been modified yesterday (check out the Recent Changes listing). However, in looking over two of the files (of which I had the older version), I could not find any modifications. I suspect the modifications, if any, are very minor.

SkyLINE FAQ Nicole Martin (of Farallon) writes: "As Apple's new AirPort base stations are reaching more and more customers, we are helping them configure the stations to work with SkyLINE-equipped PowerBooks. Check out this FAQ page."
