Following up on yesterday's report on problems using AirPort 1.3 with WaveLAN cards:

Farallon SkyLINE There may be problems with Farallon's SkyLINE card as well. Sherman Heinig writes: "AirPort 1.3 does definitely not work with the Farallon Skyline 2MB. I just spoke to Farallon who are going to have an update for the 11MB card but so far no plans for the 2MB. I downgraded the Base Station to 1.2 and it works fine."

Update: Kenneth Lim was able to get the 2MB card to work with AirPort 1.3. Stanley Fertig was able to get AirPort 1.3 to work with the 11MB card. So give it a try before assuming the worst.

Farallon and Lucent Theo Maschus reports a problem with his Lucent Silver Orinoco card (in a Wallstreet PowerBook) with both AirPort 1.2 and 1.3. The symptoms are almost identical to the Mac OS 9.1 conflict with the Farallon Skyline card, as described on this page:

"Farallon has identified compatibility issues with the Farallon SkyLINE PC Card and Mac OS 9.1 in some PowerBook G3 models. While these products will work together properly for most people, a few may experience freezes or loss of connection when trying to configure or use the card. Farallon engineers are aggressively pursuing the problem."
