Adobe Systems today launched Adobe FrameMaker 5 for Microsoft Windows 95 and NT, a reworked 32-bit version of its document authoring tool, and introduced a utility that lets users convert FrameMaker documents to HTML format for posting on the Internet.

FrameMaker 5 is the first Adobe-branded release of the tool following the company's acquisition of Frame Technology last fall. The new release includes support for longer documents, compound document creation, and multi-platform support.

The utility, called FrameMaker Hotamale, lets users save FrameMaker files as HTML documents and edit HTML files. FrameMaker 5 is priced at $895, and ugrades are $225. The tool is also available on Windows 3.1, Macintosh, Power Macintosh, SunOS, Solaris, HP/UX, Digital Unix, IBM AIX, and Silicon Graphics IRIX operating systems.

Adobe said Hotamale will be available free from the company's Web site beginning June 17.
