Adobe Expert support not answering questions regarding Intel-based Macs

We've received a number of reports from readers indicating problems obtaining support for Adobe applications running on Intel-based Macs under Rosetta.

MacFixIt reader Len Williams writes:

"I have an Expert Support contract with Adobe for the entire Creative Suite (3 years running) and have normally had superlative help, however, when I called 4 days ago about the crashing problems I got a shock. The support rep I spoke to said that since I had an Intel Mac he couldn't stay on the line with me to help me out. He said the software specifically stated on the box that it was designed to run on G3, G4 and G5 Macs and that there were just too many problems on Intel Macs. Emailed me several Adobe debug PDFs and cut me loose. He wasn't even nice about it. I was dumbfounded! Even with a support contract, no help would be forthcoming--at least until Spring 2007 when CS3 makes its debut, but that's about 7-8 months away, making my support contract useless.

"I was in real trouble, as about half my day was now involved with restarting and debugging problems instead of getting client work done. So, I dug into the bank account and purchased a pre-owned PowerMac G5 dual 2GHz from PowerMax.com. The sales rep I spoke to told me I got the last one they had, and that they were selling like hotcakes to designers who were running into the same problems."
