Additional Umax driver downloads removed

Yesterday we reported that Umax had quietly removed most (perhaps all) of the downloadable scanner drivers from its Web site, preferring instead to charge users $32 for a driver shipped via CD-ROM. Shortly after our original post, several users pointed out other various Umax sites that still offered driver downloads. Alas, it appears that last night at least some of those sites have also pulled their drivers. Jeroen Wilhelmus writes:

"All the drivers have been removed of both the UK and Germany site and you're requested to order a CD which costs 8 Euro each. There's a petition set up by users to request a rapid development of Umax drivers for OS X."
