'Ackbar's Eleven' makes us long for a George Clooney 'Star Wars' movie

When you think of it, planning an attack on the Death Star is pretty similar to a Las Vegas-style heist. You have to sneak into a highly secure area undetected. There's always the threat of death, or at least a severe beatdown by a bad guy. And the underdog is the wild card that brings it all together.

In the mashup "Ackbar's Eleven" by Synaptic Studios, we find out what would happen if George Clooney were Admiral Akbar planning a heist for an "Ocean's Eleven" version of "The Empire Strikes Back."

The video has a few humorous moments die-hard "Star Wars" fans will chuckle at, like Clooney as Ackbar asking if everyone is sober. Then the camera swings over to Princess Leia played by Carrie Fisher. Plus, Crix Madine in Brad Pitt's role from "Ocean's Eleven" is a nice touch.

To be fair, thinking of Lando Calrissian as a Las Vegas blackjack dealer isn't that much of a stretch. After all, Lando is an avid gambler who wins then loses the Millennium Falcon (to Han Solo) in a game of sabacc.

The longer you watch the mashup video, which posted Tuesday, the more plausible it seems that one of the upcoming "Star Wars" spin-off films would make for a great heist movie. We hear Jabba the Hutt is loaded! Hint hint.
