A very different chip; a very different store; a very different factory

Apple has updated its home page with items about its new hardware and new sales directions.

Apple announced its new G3 computers (as expected) and The Apple Store where "you can order your Macintosh the same way you order your pizza - with just as much stuff on it as you like. (But no anchovies.) You can configure your computer literally hundreds of different ways, saving time and money - because you'll get everything you need at once and you won't have to pay for features you wouldn't use."

There were no surprise announcements after all.
