Fresh herbs make all the difference when cooking a dish; however, it can also mean a lot of chopping when you're cooking from scratch. The Compact Herb Chopper makes fast work of those herbs, though, as well as garlic, vegetables, nuts, and chocolate. The chopper slides out of its carrying case, which doubles as a nonslip chopping board. Rinse off your chopper and cutting board between jobs, stick it back in the carrying case, and keep it from causing problems until you need it again. The chopper has a double-bladed cutter made from stainless steel, with a plastic handle.

The Compact Herb Chopper is relatively small, as far as choppers go. It measures only about 7 inches by 7 inches by 1.5 inches, fitting easily inside most kitchen drawers. It does come in handy, letting you quickly chop foods with a movement that's more comfortable than many knives. If you're chopping multiple ingredients, it's probably worth pulling out a bigger cutting board. The Compact Herb Chopper costs $25.
