The next generation of Chevrolet's Malibu has been teased and hinted at for weeks now. Now, the sedan gets a full reveal at the 2011 Shanghai auto show. But you don't have to fly to the other side of the world to get a peek at Chevy's upcoming midsize and its MyLink software package, because the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu has also gotten a virtual unveiling on YouTube. We expect that the new Malibu will also be discussed and possibly even displayed at the 2011 New York auto show.

In the video below, we get a nice long look at the Malibu's exterior and interior, including a few shots of the MyLink interface in action. The mystery of the physical switch below the touch screen is also solved when the entire screen flips up revealing a deep, hidden pocket for storing an iPod, iPhone, or other handheld and the cables for connecting to the in-dash receiver.

Under the hood lives a new 2.5-liter direct-injected Ecotec four-cylinder engine, a small mill for a vehicle of this size, but it seems that efficiency is the name of the game for this generation of Malibu. Ultimate power and efficiency numbers haven't been finalized, but initial estimates by Motor Trend point to upwards of 190 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque sent through the Malibu's only-option Hydra-Matic 6T40 six-speed automatic and out through the front wheels.

So what do you think of Chevrolet's new D-segment fighter's aesthetic and user interface? Sound off in the comments.
