Pros Hopeful of getting remote access to people.
Cons Got this error message "Your network router could not be configured to enable or disable remote access. This can occur when your router does not have UPnP enabled or the required port cannot be opened or closed." I have U-Verse. Discovered this online: "y
Pros None, couldent get it to work
Cons User quick guide doesent really exist, you need glasses to see it....Poor poor poor
Summary No simple fault guide, everything is web web web, I like paper, I like a guide and a trouble shooter, listen up IOMEGA!!!
Pros Could use it as a paperweight, I suppose.
Cons Works for two or three minutes, then disconnects itself from the network and locks up completely -- won't even power down on a short *or* long press of the power button.
Summary Unusable. Complete and utter waste of money, and it's a long drive back to the store where I purchased it.
Pros NONE WHAT SO EVER !!!
Cons Printer server doesn't work.
Slow operation and management.
Was unable to use it as a cloud.
Was unable to use it for remote access.
500 GB of the space suddenly became occupied, though I only used about 100GB.
Summary Causes programs to crash when trying to print using the printer server.
I uploaded less than 100GB and it suddenly says I used 500GB (I don't have that much data, so no way I uploaded it by mistake). I was unable to find these mysterious 500GB so I tried to use the factory reset option in order to restart the use, which brought me to the current situation - the device is completely unusable. I didn't buy it. I'm trying to find out if I can use it purely as an extenal HDD.
On the bright side I found this out NOW and not when I really needed it.
AND BY THE WAY: THE DOCUMENTATION ON THIS DEVICE IS THE WORST I EVER READ !
Pros It works most of the time and the html interface is workable
Cons Keeps bugging me for passwords every 15 minutes. When I deselect security altogether, it doesn't work with TimeMachine. Usable for backup but not for files you use all the time. It is way, way to slow for that. Changing settings takes ages too.
Summary Can't recommend it, unfortunately. I'm going to look around for something (much, much) better
