"I love it!"on by jayacosta
Pros battery life is great, I make 8hrs trips everyweek and i don't have to charge the battery every 30min. Is fast and very stable, nice screen size and picture quality. Everything you need is here.
Cons no cd rom, speakers are very the worst I have found in a laptop, even my Iphone earphones sound better from the table.
Summary Nice, classy, compact life long battery, windows 7, hdmi, I love it. worth to buy, you won't regret it.
Pros -Great and bright screen
-Superb battery life 7-8hours depending on usage.
-good keyboard to type on
-SU4100 can handle my production programs without problems
-great wireless signal
Cons -FINGERPRINT MAGNET
-Speakers are more or less the quality of a cellphone speaker. But not a problem for me cause I use headphones most of the time.
Summary This is a great laptop for the price. I got it for $599 on sale from $729. I'm using this for school so this size and weight is perfect.
anyways here are my specs:
-Intel SU4100 1.3ghz 3MB Cache Dualcore
-3GB DDR3 1066mhz RAM
-Intel 4500HD GMA
-Realtek b/g/n wireless
- Standard 6 cell 61wh
-Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Pros long battery life- 7 hours is not unreasonable if your not watching videos
good specs on paper, especially for $550
HD playback looks good overall
Cons speakers are a joke
mouse pad can get twitchy at times, or out right hung up
shiny case constantly looks dirty
toshibas reputation for customer service
eco mode- is semi annoying at times
Summary I ended up buying one because I was looking for something between a netbook and a laptop. While there are some downsides to this unit, for $550 I can live with them. I'm a student so I needed something light weight with long battery life that could still do some moderate multitasking. Netbooks were too underpowered processor-wise and the screens were too small to multitask, and laptops were too big/heavy and unless I went out of my price range I couldn't get the 6+ hour battery life that I wanted. This one does a nice job of sitting in between, the processor is kind of weak but much faster than anything in a netbook, It comes in at under 4 lbs and I've gotten 7 hours of battery life out if it. Hopefully nothing breaks on it because toshiba has a horrible rep for customer service from what I've seen.
Pros 1. Light
2. Good battery life
3. Nice display
Cons 1. Poor Quality
3. Terrible customer service and depot repair system
Summary We had this laptop for about 10 days before the wireless adapter disappeared from the system. I called the tech support number and, of course, they told me to reinstall Windows 7. I knew this would not help because the adapter HARDWARE was missing so I told them as much. When I told them I am an IT professional, they finally agreed to ship me a box to send it for depot repair. The box arrived on 11/30/09. After backing up the system, I shipped the box, TWO-DA
Y UPS to the depot. I finally received acknowledgment of receipt on 12/7. Since then, the status on the Toshiba repair site says 'On Hold for Parts'. I called them on 12/18 and asked to speak to someone who could tell me how long it would be before it is fixed; was transferred to another number and, after hearing over and over and over and over how they were experiencing a high call volume and how important my call is; for over an hour, I was dropped. It is now 12/21. Last night, I emailed them and demanded a date when we can expect this system back and that they extend the warranty to cover the period we were without the system. I got back a snotty reply saying they WILL NOT give a firm date and that their estimate is 12/31 and that they WILL NOT extend the warranty and to call customer service. Well, I know how that experience works! This is alot more delay than the 7-10 days they promised when I asked before sending in the unit.
In summary, my advice to you is DO NOT BUY A TOSHIBA PRODUCT. IF YOU EVER NEED THEM TO STAND BEHIND IT AND PROVIDE REPAIR SERVICE, THEY WILL FAIL YOU AND NOT COMPENSATE YOU FOR THEIR FAILURE. It doesn't matter how good a product is, if they treat you like crap, they don't deserve your business.
If you don't believe me, look at the reviews for this product on Amazon and even on the Toshiba Forum. You will see many people who have disappearing wireless adapters in the T135 series. You will see lots of very unhappy customers if they had to deal with Toshiba's repair depot.
Buy a Dell, Buy an HP, Buy Lenovo, buy Apple (awesome service by the way), but RUN from Toshiba.
Pros - Incomparable performance for the value
- Dual-core processor even though Intel fails to say so on the sticker
Cons - Weak speakers, but here's a quick fix for that:
