  • "Very good for a $780 laptop @ bestbuy"
    on by xcnico

Pros - fan goes on when it actually needs to and is relatively quiet (doesn't sound like an attack chopper is taking off like my old HPs)
    - Doesn't overheat and make me feel like it's frying my balls (unlike my HP)
    - i5 process....can you say fast!!!
    -4 gi

Cons - has some features that are sometimes annoying:
    - the laptop has a feature where it protects your hard drive if you bump it or in like a bumpy car ride. However if you are listening to music this can be annoying because the music will stop momentarily.

Summary Keeping my story short. I bought first HP laptop at bestbuy. That one and one more replacement HP laptop broke.

Finally i decided to to switch brands & i AM GLAD I DID! 2 Maybe it's because i had s h i t t y luck with stu pid HP laptops. (I've had two that just decided to stop working) I HAVE YET TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS LAPTOP.... and i have yet to have something major to complain about this laptop.

I don't play that many video games. I use this laptop for school, email, facebook, and downloading movies. I have not problem doing like all of these at the same time. There have been plenty of times when i have multiple XCEL, POWERPOINT, WORD files, Opera (my favorite browswer) like itunes or VLC Media player open at the same time running and my laptop can handle it. That's impressive. My CPU always stays like around 5% and total memory used is always under 50%. I'm not a Computer scientist, but i think it's because it has a i5 processor & it's not a stupid AMD.

If you want a great laptop for college or work this laptop is for you. It is extremely capable of multi tasking with plenty of windows open. movies, microsoft office, itunes, frostwire...etc. this is the laptop for you.

  • "1050 can be much better spent..."
    on by jakersummit

Pros It at least has an i5 processor

    Cons price is way high

Summary I am not at all impressed with this laptop for the price and what is in it. For example, BB has a 14" Tosiba with i5, 4 gig ddr3 memory, harmon kardon, 4g/wimax, extended 8-11 hr batterie for under $750. This should be priced $749 at best.

  • "Sounds great, and who doesn't carry a extra battery?"
    on by Pks297333

    Pros Great 'GB's' (500)

Cons Nothing yet, I want to replace an older 'Toshiba' and this might be it's replacement

Summary This laptop will do everything I need and with it's 500 gb's I will have lesser need of a 'aux. hard drive'!

  • "Everything you need in a 14 inch laptop. Almost perfect"
    on by infinitiman

Pros Design, cooling, GPU, CPU, keyboard, trackpad, ports, color, speakers, quiet and cool running.

Cons No BlueRay drive and standard resolution for screen.

Summary Everything you need in a 14 inch laptop: CPU, GPU, RAM, lighted keyboard, bluetooth, design, styling, ports, speakers, all you need. Your battery life test in NOT correct I get 3.5 hours with my tests: balanced profile with web surfing and watching videos. This laptop rocks. It would be perfect with BlueRay and a higher resolution screen (900p or greater). Oh, and maybe a little thinner with the newer NVidia 400m series GPUs NVidia just announced that are coming very soon. DS

  • "Sent the wrong product, Worst Customer service!"
    on by boyl7132

Pros The texture of the case is nice. Good sounding speakers.

Cons The worst customer service I have seen from any company! Poorly grounded sound card (speakers make a clicking noise). No Bluetooth, no usb 3.0, only 2 usb ports, poor batey life, runs slower than my 2 ghz centrino (config w/ i5 2.5 ghz w/ turbo to 2.9), t

Summary The bottom line here is that Toshiba doesn't care about its customers. If you have a problem with your computer then you are out of luck. Toshiba won't work with you to resolve the issue. When purchasing this computer the sales representative said it had multiple features that it didn't. After several emails and long phone calls to Toshiba they were unwilling to allow any kind of partial refund no matter how small. The solution was for me to return the computer and buy something else (which is extremely inconvenient after the laptop is already set up). Toshiba is supposed to stand for quality at least that is why you are supposedly paying more for fewer features. The quality is just not there in this computer. The screen is not very strong and feels like it will easily break. It's also all plastic. At this price point the other computer companies offer metal parts. The issue with the sound card not being grounded properly shows me that the insides of this computer are not well built. I would stay away from Toshiba.
