Cons The speakers are so quiet - you can barely hear anything. The cursor jumps around while typing - I am constantly having to re-edit. The battery life is very short - you have to bring your charger with you at all times.
Summary I know it's cheap, but if you will be using your laptop frequently, spend the money and get one with a better battery life, better speakers and a better mouse design.
Pros for the price, it is somewhat versatile, and allows a person who knows his way around a computer play with it. sturdy, and well built as far as its life goes
Cons it cannot dissipate heat properly, and over heats in a few short hours causing it to shut down, even in air-conditioned places
Summary toshiba has been a company that provides quality computers, but apparently they hit a low on this model. honestly it is a computer that i do not recommend for anyone, unless of course you are strapped for cash. i would never buy this pc again although this pc seems to be well built and will not die. toshiba is a must have, just not this model of laptop.
Pros The pros of a cheap laptop
Cons hard drive crashed and replaced right after the warranty ended, battery lasts 15' in one year life
Summary I wouldn't buy toshiba again. Very cheap.
"Great laptop!"on by lsisk
Pros I have the L505. It has a dual-core processor, webcam, 300GB hard drive, 4G RAM, nice port bank, and is decent with games. Its the perfect size.
Cons The keypad is too touchy and updates take a long time to complete.
Summary I got this at the Best Buy Black Friday Sale in 2009. By the way, Best Buy has a great way of running this sale. They pass out tickets for guaranteed items before the store opens. Things are much safer that way. Anyway to the point, my laptop fell 4 feet off a piano onto a cement floor and it STILL works great! The only thing I had to replace was the screen, which was $90. The only problem the fall caused was when I listen to music occasionally it slows the song down, but that only lasts for a few seconds and then everything is back to normal. This laptop is a great buy!
Pros Decent battery life.
Lovely key board and number pad.
Handles a lot of programs handily.
Cons A bit sluggish for gaming.
Not always able to connect to available wi-fi.
Could have better battery life.
Summary I've had my tosh for awhile now, and I'm still quite comfortable with it. It does what I need it to do, and I haven't had any issues except for a break in my power connector, but that was only a $40 fix. Cheap enough that I don't worry about bringing in around with me. It adds a LOT of weight to the book bag though. I've seen better laptops, but of my friends that have lenovos and hps mine has had the fewest problems. I plan on getting a battery with more than 2 hours of a lifespan, but it's doing alright for only losing about an hour of battery life in the 2 years that I've had it.
