  • "This computer is fast and graphics that blew me away!"
    on by supasam20

Pros Loads up fast due to 3GB of RAM and very good processor, handles my World of Warcraft better than my PC, has a full keyboard including number pad and graphics are insane with the 17in. screen.

Cons Wireless card doesn't pick up as many locations as I wish it could, battery life could be a little better and for some reason I had to modify my registery due to my DVD/CD player having some sort of miscommunication.

Summary Bottom line this computer is AWESOME! For the price, you can't beat the features and hardware it comes with. I didn't want to use Vista because I heard it wasn't good and I was told this computer would take Windows XP, but since using it I can honestly say it has change my whole outlook on Vista. I am completely satsified with my purchase. Hope this helps someone find a good computer as I did.

  • "Great Computer for the Price!"
    on by jwood831

Pros I really love this computer. The screen is very large, it's nice to have a number pad, and the performance is better than I expected. Of course the price sweetens the deal. I've owned for several months, and besides a few driver updates, no problems!

Cons The battery life isn't great, but it's not horrible, either. That's the only con I can really think of.

Summary I own a small business and also play a few games online, and can manage both pretty darn well with this computer. It's got plenty of space to store all my business files as well as awesome having the number pad. It makes accounting a lot easier. The tech support through Toshiba's site was awesome, too, when I needed to find a driver update. The games I play online run almost flawless at the most demanding performance levels. It really is a great laptop, and I'm still confused as to why CNet gave it such a low rating? I wasn't even on a budget when I chose this one, and could have spent over $1000 on a laptop, but why? With this, you get almost all of the features for $700 or less.

  • "Fast and loaded but poor battery life."
    on by nitro56

Pros Nice big screen. Full keyboard. Fast and loaded with features. Can't best the price. Very reliable.

Cons My only complaint is the poor battery life.

Summary Had nothing but trouble with my Vaio NR430. Returned it and got a refund. A geek friend recommened this model. Great choice! Bought it with a printer for under $600 from Shopnbc.com. I'm dissapointed in the battery life but will buy a bigger battery. Would have rated it 5 stars if not for the battery.

  • "Lots of Features, Convenient Buttons, Low Battery Life"
    on by seventysrocker

Pros The Volume control is a handy wheel, WiFi switch, SD Card reader, Volume Control Audio Input are all handily located below the Touchpad. 10 Number Keypad. Great Keyboard layout, Great Touchpad interface, tap to click, Bright Clear 17' Display.

Cons Only 3 USB 2.0 slots, Very short Battery Life, Excessive Heat, No Bluetooth, No FireWire Slot, No built in Cam, No built in Mic

Summary This is a great Laptop to keep at home or at the office. It is fairly lightweight, and easy to transfer back and forth, however, the large 17' Display is a curse when going to buy a Laptop Carying case. The Keyboard is very sleek easy to use, with a additional 10 Number keypad for easy entry. The FN buttons are integrated into the F1-F9 Making it very easy to get what you need done. It comes with Windows Vista which is very user-friendly with many features. For Example, you are connected to the INternet and instead of having to minimize your web browser, you can easily access your Desktp folders with the Desktop launch button. The USB and Media ports are all very handy and well placed for easy use. There is both Ethernet and Phone Line inputs, as well as a VGA input on the left side. The Lightflash technology is nice when maing a DVD or CD for a friend or loved one. This is a great Laptop for watching movies at home, it has a nice Crystal Clear 17' Display and Handy Media Buttons located above the Keyboard, such as Mute, Open, Play/Pause, Stop, Foward, Rewind. The great Touchpad is a little sensetive when typing, so for Home use I recommend a USB Mouse. You can easily turn off the Touchpad with a FN HotKey. Battery Life is less than desirable with a mere 104 Minute Battery Life, with Minimal Brightness and Processing Speed. I would not reccommend this for someone who is going to use it on the go, but for home or office use it more than meets the expectations.

  • "This is a great laptop for the money and is plenty fast"
    on by taustin1382

Pros Great Performance, Full Keyboard, Beautiful Display, Decent Video Card, GREAT PRICE

Cons Battery Life, Crappy Internal Wireless Card.

Summary Look, for $500 and change, I challenge you to find a better full featured laptop. I have had this laptop for about 3 weeks and other than 2 hours of battery life and some initial wireless card problems (Driver reinstall fixed it) I have nothing but good things to say. I have purchsed the 64 bit version of Xp and the performance increased significantly over Vista. I also have it dual booted with Linux (ubuntu 8.04 64bit) and it is absolutely screaming fast. I have no complaints about the performance and for the price it cannot be beat. just my 2 cents.
