"Works well on high power, but overheats often."

4 stars  | on by cristiline

Pros

As long as it's running on high power: pretty fast, good for multitasking

Cons

When running on low power, Windows Explorer stops responding; no microphone (or camera); HEATING PROBLEMS, casing material absorbs fingerprints

My biggest problem with it is the heating problems. It started overheating when I first got it. Sometimes it will go for months without overheating, but after that nothing will stop it. I've tried compressed air, manually wiping the fan, but it will overheat even on a perfectly flat table.

I also experience a lot of problems when it's running on low power. Window Explorer constantly stops responding. As long as it's running on high power, though, it works great.

The material the laptop is made of also gets dirty really easily. It's a real pain to constantly have to wipe it.

Despite these criticisms, it actually is a good laptop for the price, though. As long as you run on high power, it is very fast. The overheating is annoying, but it tends to come and go in periods. There are better laptops, but this one is still pretty good. I tend to run a lot of programs at once and keep a large number of tabs open. I don't know about gaming because I don't do that much.
