Pros -3D movies/gaming is fun for the most part.
-Gaming performance is acceptable, card can be overclocked slightly without too much heat.
-Backlit keyboard, texture of enclosure looks and feels nice, GREAT speakers
-HDMI 1.4 output can support 3DTVs
Cons - 1366x768, low and disappointing resolution
-The Nvidia 350M card is aging fast, not the best you could get for this price range
-3D content is few and far between at this point in time, other than gaming, it's pretty much a gimmick
Summary This laptop does a lot of things well, but it does not really push the boundaries for anything in particular. Its not a movie-goer's dream, nor is it a very high end gaming laptop. It lacks in both departments, while not being totally unacceptable. Appearance wise, it looks attractive, and is very sturdy. The screen, although low in resolution, looks better than my old 15in laptop screen with the same resolution (HP dv6-3120us).
The sound quality is superb for laptop speakers. If you can stand only being able to watch movies/videos on it in 720p, the sound quality will make up for it for the most part.
If you really want 3D content, then it might be worth it for not only the 3D screen, but the opportunity to hook it up to other displays than can display 3D content and play 3D-Blu Ray movies. However, there are 3D laptops out at the time of this writing that are in full 1080p.
Overall, it is a nice laptop with a lot of great features, but while it holds its own as a decent mobile gaming rig and a high-end workstation, it's not the best of the bunch.
Pros It is rugged and has a large screen.
Cons It should improve its battery.
Summary I like this because of its ruggedness. I am planning to change over after 6 months (I bought this present Model 1 1/2 years ago) (once in two years I change my laptop) and I would consider buying this make provided its competitor Lennovo does not bring a more superior configuration at that time as I always opt for the state of art machine.
Pros Has a good screen, amazing speakers and i really like the look and feel.
Cons My 3D did not work out of the box, but no loss really. There is not much in the way of 3D that im interested in.
Summary This is the first laptop that i have owned and used. I dont think i will ever buy a PC again.
Pros Could be great pc IF it worked
Cons OS was corrupt. Hard drive defective. Probs arose 15 days after purchase; couldn't return to store. Shipped for repair-- Gone for 3 wks -- tech's broke the wireless. Have to send back. If u buy; get the warranty. Toshiba will NOT replace
Summary This PC was defective 15 days after purchase. Store policy was max 15 days to replace. I spent hours restoring the system, re-downloading software, backing up data etc. Found hard drive was defective. Sent the machine in for repair,it took 3 weeks; had to wait an extra 10 days because hard drive was back ordered (says a lot ). Came back without wireless working-- worked when sent in. Toshiba solution; send it back for additional repairs, things THEY BROKE! Toshiba policy is to repair; NEVER REPLACE. If u buy this machine and it breaks U R stuck w/o the extended warranty. Buy at your own risk.
Pros Sadly, none.
Cons Lousy attention to detail, look & feel. Very poor customer service polices.
Summary Ordered from ToshibaDirect.com. Really dont like the look and feel of this so-called "Premium" laptop (their term). Keys and trackpad buttons dont feel right. And the plastic case is plain cheezy.
So..tried to return it and found out there was 15% restocking fee in the fine print. This was the shabbiest thing of all. One does not expect to have to dig into the fine print when dealing with a major company such as Toshiba. I did, in fact, ask about the return policy on the phone before purchasing, and was told it was 15 days. They never mentioned the restocking fee. And admittedly, I didnt go digging into the fine print, but I shouldnt have to. I fully expect that a reputable world-class company would point out the restocking fee during the purchase process. I did complain about the restocking fee and took it up a level, but to no avail, so buyer beware. This buyer will avoid Toshiba for awhile. And for laptops, have always been happy with HP.
