  • "great ultrabook for the price"
    on by josetheman34

Pros Super fast, long battery life, very thin and light. backlit keyboard is helpful

Cons Feels a little flimsy, and fan was making noise right out of the box.

Summary I was in the market for a new laptop for college, so I needed something that would be easy to carry. I looked into the ultra books and decided to go with the Toshiba z935-p300 after reading many reviews, which all sites gave this laptop 4 stars. I can't believe how thin and light this thing is! For that reason, it feels quite fragile, but I'll take that drawback. I have been getting about 5hrs of wifi internet web browsing with it and I love the backlit keyboard. I bought this ultrabook for $789, so I think that I made a great purchase. I would have bought the Lenovo Yoga, but it was not in stock at the time and I needed a computer ASAP.I didn't like the fact that the Yoga was about $220 more, and it has the same processor and storage as the Z935. The yoga does have a higher resolution touch screen display but no backlit keyboard(bummer). I upgraded the Z935 to windows 8 for$16.99 and the touchpad works great with the gestures. Some people say that the keyboard sucks on this laptop, but I think it's fine(it does flex a little when you use it). Also some people say that the spacebar does not register sometimes, t\ I have not seen this. The fan was noisy when I turned it on for the first time, but it went away. I did put extra protection for it(extended warranty and accidental damage protection) just in case, since some people say that the screen can crack if your not careful with it when you carry it in a bag. I would recommend this machine, since it's the best that I have bought.

Update: A couple of days ago, I had to go back to windows 7 since this computer crashed and would not boot. I would only get the blue screen of death. Also, today I noticed that if i rest my palm in the left side of the machine only, it wobbles! I have to have both palms on it at the same time so this doesn't happen. Weird, since this means that the bottom side is not level. I guess it has to do with the fan underneath sticking out a little. Now I'm back on widows 8 and hopefully it wont crash again! If i press with my left finger on the left side of this computer it wobbles like I said before. Not cool.
