Pros Sleek and fast (when working)

Cons The SSD's are failure prone. And cost a FORTUNE to replace when out of warranty.

Summary The SSD's are utter trash. The first ones (I paid $$$ for 2) died while on a beach house vacation hours before a storm was about to hit. Replaced under warranty. The SSD's died last month and it cost me $550 for a single SSD ($1100+ for both!). It is now buggy with text jumping when I try to type and the cursor sometimes becomes a box with a finger. I'm looking for another laptop but the $500 I spent really bothers me. Stay away from Sony.

  • "Sony Vaio left button defect"
    on by wesley123321

Pros It is your typical laptop. Nothing special

Cons Purchased, Sony Vaio,2011. Got home, left mouse button did not work. Took it back for replacement. Few months later, left mouse button seldom worked. less than year, no mouse button at all. NEVER buy Sony computers, they make TVs not computers

Summary Left mouse button is crap and I have read and heard other complaints about the same defect. Sony put out garbage but, will gladly charge you to fix what is already sold broken.

  • "Top Notch Everything in a "workhorse" laptop"
    on by pavelmyshkin

    Pros Extremely lightweight series
The first to offer latest powerful cpus
    Futureproof

Cons Such small scale package challenges to build sturdy parts, on my VGN-TZ the fan grill and trackpad buttons broke off after years of use. There is no chance for that in the Z.
Sony Style not sending to freight forwarding addresses is BAD behavior .!

Summary Still my next laptop to buy for sure, I have a VGN-TZ with 64GB SSD for 4 years now and it performs like it is new, and I am a power user.

  • "DOA. Left mouse button doesn't work."
    on by lionelhutz

Pros Light, fast. Or at least it would be if I could use it.

Cons Left mouse button doesn't work right out of the box. For $2000 I expect perfection, not a DOA product. What is happening to Sony?

Summary Left mouse button doesn't work right out of the box. For $2000 I expect perfection, not a DOA product. What is happening to Sony? Maybe this is why everyone is buying Apple.

  • "Listen to the Reviews!! VAIOs are wast of Money"
    on by MMGG2012

    Pros Nothing really

Cons High chance of breaking down

Summary My laptop was broken from day 1 and they kept asking me to bring it for service. They don't accept any return evenif they agree that their product is broken. They just say everything can be fixed. So let's fix it. Dell accepts full refund without any question. Lenovo accepts full refund after 2 trial to fix over phone and sony did not accept the return (even exhange) after i sent it to their service center 3 time!!! Do you really want to take such risk and get stuck with such product. I will never again buy anything from sony. Not just laptop.
