Pros

Nice looking computer, plenty fast for everyday use

Cons

Battery life is pretty short, speakers are not good, the offset keyboard takes a while to get used to.

Bought this summer of 2010 and have overall been very happy with the computer.I use this computer mostly for internet browsing and watching Netflix/Hulu. I cut the cable cord and use this and my Xbox for my TV watching, so the HDMI out is great for hooking up to the TV for Hulu. I don't do much gaming, but this does fine for the basic games that I play.

The only problems I have had with the computer have been:
1.Getting used to the offset keyboard. It is great having a number pad, but that comes at the price of getting used to the keyboard not being in the center of the computer.
2.When I first got the laptop, the wireless would constantly drop - which is REALLY annoying. That went on for a couple of weeks, but an update from Sony took care of that.
3.The speakers are no good. I love watching Cnet podcasts and videos. The volume to begin with is kind of low, so I have to turn the speakers up all the way, and if there is any other noise in the room, I can't hear the show. I had to purchase a small set of speakers to remedy this problem.

Overall this is a great laptop that has (almost) all the things I need!

"Sony always looks good."

3 stars  | on by MickeyChristmas

Pros

Sony is a sexy name in gadgets. This only looks slick & runs soild. Bright screen, nice individual keys for everyone on the keyboard. its got 10-key.

Cons

the touchpad is centered under the qwerty keyboard without regard to the 10 key pad. that makes it set off center of the whole base. its kinda weird. the texture on mine seemed to wear down fast.
the speakers SUCK! all USB ports are tooclose together

Summary

Im a gadget guy. I value look almost as much as usability. Sony is a nice name and this PC looks slick.
the i3 is pretty fast, links up well with PS3 & android phone wireless. no bluetooth. the external speakers are absolute garbage.
Bottom Line:
Its a Sony, but ... Read full review

Bottom Line:
Its a Sony, but a lower mid range Sony. I'd rate it about 80% good.
