Pros Portable, light, solid with touchscreen. Can have I7 CPU + 8GB memory. Intel graphics OK. SSD/hark disk quick. Build quality good. Battery life adequate. HDMI & SD sockets good. Sony software support OK. Gigabit Ethernet is fast. Battery replaceable.
Cons The 13.3" screen is frankly ghastly. Reflective; colour balance awful and sensitive to screen viewing angle. It has 2 USB sockets - one USB2 one USB3. Why not make both USB3? No SPDIF output. Keyboard not backlit. Uses 2.4GHz wifi only.
Summary Sony had the opportunity to make a world beating product but have under-achieved - simply by shaving the quality off where the customer expects it - especially the screen. It is hard to understand how the screen which is such a poor piece of kit could even get into a Sony Vaio design (especially when alternative screens like Apple's Retina were around). Nothing about this product has done more than I expected - but it has done quite a lot less. I use it several hours every day - it is adequate. I expect more from a Sony product - especially Vaio, so I am left a little disappointed. This may well be my last Vaio purchase.
Pros Its slim, has a very solid case and looks awesome. Battery life could be better, but honestly does everything I need it to do. Runs some basic games okay, and it does all the things an ultra book should do.
Cons Audio quality is pretty low, does not always seem to keep up with movements on the touch screen, my nexus 7 is much better. See summary for more details.
Summary At first, I had the previous generation of this computer, the non-touch screen. That one ended up being nothing but problems. The computer would shut down right after start because the fan was not functioning. Unfortunately, Sony's repair center could not identify the problem, and sent it back to me. I had to fight with Sony, and sent the computer to the repair center 3 times before they sent me this computer. At first it was running fine, despite the case damage it came with from the repair center. It did all the functions I needed it to do for school. This lasted about 2 months, then problems started happening. It continues to disconnect me from the internet despite my efforts. I had tried to update the drivers several times with no real success. The touch screen is not very responsive and also continues to give me problems. Occasionally I have found that the computer will freeze for no reason, even when I am only running basic things like Microsoft word and Google chrome. That and the sub par customer and repair service, I am overall dissatisfied with my product and will most likely avoid Sony computers in the future.

Pros vaio has manufacturing issues!!!
Cons Power circuit on the motherboard is just fake!!!
Summary Guess what...!
With a better design and bigger screen the original Sony Vaio is the solid frustrating hypocritical lapy!!!
People be-aware , SONY VAIO has default problem with manufacturing of their MOTHERBOARD, there are issues with its power circuit, and I have faced this problem within 6 months of this purchase. When I went to Sony Service Center , they said that it was Moisture problem cause of which the laptop is not Powering ON and thus din't extend my warranty period. Once i was out of my warranty period , the problem of laptop being not getting powered on started all over again... and now the service centre people are asking me to change the motherboard with an estimated price of Rs.12,324/. Guys remember! I have just not hit 2 years of using this SONY Vaio laptop.
Above all.. Sony services and customer satisfaction is just Zero!!! Very poor English and really really very rude to customers!!!!
VAIO *** SONY are the worst laptops i have ever seen in my life!!!
