Pros Good screen, touchpad and keyboard. Blu-ray drive. Decent processor, memory, hard drive and graphics. Good wireless. HDMI output. Decent sound for a laptop. Neat color.
Cons Not a 1080p screen. Mediocre battery life - seems to lose charge even when off.
Summary I really like this machine, but wish that battery life was better. It doesn't have quite enough to watch a full movie on battery except from a fresh full charge. I don't know why it seems to discharge so rapidly even when turned off. Still, for the money it was one of the best available.
Pros Great LCD, Sleek Design, Unique color, great performance with 6GB RAM and 400GB storage space. I haven't used blu ray, but I guess its a plus to have it.
Cons Great laptop for the price....poor battery life (typical of sony). Battrey life. Sony claims 4 hrs, but I found it to drain our at about 1.5 hrs with Vaio Optimized Power plan.
Pros Great functionality and when it works, a great feel relative to other PC Laptops.
Cons If there is any issue whatsoever that requires service, Sony may take up to two weeks to fix the issue. During which time, no loaner or refund is available. Dell is a 3 day turn around tops. Also, Dell will simply refund your money.
Summary I will never buy another Sony Laptop. If you are like most people and will lose money or time if your laptop is ever down, Sony is not for you. Buy a Dell or buy from a retailer that stands by their product and will offer a full refund.
Trust me, nothing is more irritating than paying a premium for a product like the Sony Vaio, then paying $200 plus tax for the extended premium warranty, and then being without your PC for two weeks.
Pros Screen is nice.
Cons Unable to play all the 3D games out in last 3 years, giving a black screen and crashed. The customer service told me this is the hardware limitation which could only be found out when you it happens, after 4 hours of talking to different agent.
Summary Moderate computer at the price but comes with severe limitations.
