  • "Great machine. Best of 12 machines I have owned."
    on by MikonCons

Pros FAR less costly than a Mac. Very fast with the i7 Intel quad processor when running multiple real-time streaming data programs.
    Outstanding self-maintenance
    High quality of customer service
    Great display
HDMI and double monitor features a plus.

Cons After one month of use, I had an intermittent touchpad problem. Sony support went through troubleshooting with me in real time on the phone. Ultimately replaced the touchpad AND the motherboard... it was an interface chip problem to the touchpad.

Summary Great machine for fast and trouble-free multitasking.
Well built machine, good for traveling.
Cost approximately HALF of an equivalent Mac performance.
Had since March 2011... still running strong.
    Will definitely buy Sony again.

As of 8/6/12, the machine is still performing flawlessly... and fast.

  • "Great at home... Good on the road"
    on by sheriff8287

Pros Solid built, good display, great keyboard, bright back lighting, wifi & 4G connect,USB 2.0,3.0 & HDMI Fan is very quiet. Pad is sensitive but I use a bluetooth mouse. Sound is good for day to day. for movies or music I use cyber accoustic 3 at home.

Cons This power house sucks the battery dry fast. 4G connect is rendered usless by a lack of coverage(Best Buy Connect/Clear) If they doubble the network coverage it would go from very bad to poor. It is a little heavy to carry around all day.

Summary This my first laptop and it has better performance then my 4yr old HP media center did when it was new and working. Stream movies in HD,play Blu ray disc, edit photos and movies or game play at home and on the road with this great performing laptop. Good wifi connecting and 4G connect works well if you can find a coverage area... GOOD LUCK! I love being able to take a great PC with me when out of town shooting photos. Love the screen size and 1080p for editing or showing of my photos and no need for external drive with 750GB hard drive.

  • "Terrible Laptop"
    on by sk8215

    Pros Good display

    Cons Very little battery life
    Noisy fan
    Unexpectedly Crashes
Poor build quality (paint wears out in just a few months)

Summary This laptop is the most unreliable, worst built laptop I have ever bought. It shuts down unexpectedly while I am using design or simulation software's and I have lost a lot of work because of that. The battery hardly lasts an hour so you cant use it without a charger. The fan which is very noisy compared to other laptops started making very loud noises in less than a year after I bought it and had to be replaced. Its a poorly built over priced laptop and it is for sure my first and last Sony laptop.

  • "freat out of the box"
    on by tylersavage

Pros its great it does everything i need it to.

Cons i have had a bit of problems out of the webcam. its always in black and white on the other end, but color on my side.

Summary got this as a gift, and though not my choice i love it, personally i would have went with a macbook.

  • "Love my F Series."
    on by bar&jas

Pros Solidly built, great backlit keyboard, fast, and good display.

Cons Battery life is really bad. Hopefully they will improve future versions of the F Series.

Summary Was torn between the HP, Dell and finally settled on the F Series by Sony. Glad I did.
