Pros Looks nice, sleek design, has lots of features...

Cons I have only had this computer 6 months, the CD rom went out first, next the SD drive stop working, the power button is very flimsy feel like it going to come off. The computer is the worse laptop I have ever had.

Summary Being that I use my laptop for work, and I travel all the time , I constantly on my laptop. however I never play CDs or DVDs on my laptop . I only put a CD in my laptop to load music on my Itunes. well after 1 month and half the CD rom went out.. I had not taken the computer back to Best Buy because I need it for work and I do not have a back up . Well now I having problems with the SD drive not reading cards when i put them in it, When the computer start up it seem like the hard drive is about to go out , you can hear the hard drive spinning.. I am at my wits end with this computer , I going to take it back to Best Buy, because now I have saved enough money to buy another computer while this piece of junk get worked on. This is my third Sony Vaio in 3 years..the last lap top I took back to best buy, Sony told best buy to just junk the computer out , honor the warranty replacement I purchased..I feel that is whats going to happen with this one. In my opinion.. Sony is overrated, they use to put out a good product in the early 90's but i feel all their products are now mass produced , and they put out a lot of defective equipment.. STAY AWAY FROM SONY PRODUCTS!! ALL OF THEM!!

Pros Beautiful screen, great multimedia performance, lots of nice features

Cons Stopped working at 5 months for no reason, 10 days to repair even with expensive extended service plan.

Summary This is for the Vaio AW235J/B: This computer, when it works, works well. From day 1 the HDMI port did not work, but was not enough of a bother to wait the 10 days total for repair (this is with the $300 extended warranty). Finally at 5 months of ownership, the trackpad, webcam and keyboard stopped working, the power button stopped turning off the computer, and it takes 10 minutes to even show the VAIO screen at startup, then once it does, it fails before loading windows. Now forced to wait endlessly for Sony to repair it.

Pros HD bright Screen with good video card and VRAM memory, Keyboard with Number keypad, fingerprint scanner

Cons Battery life (you don't get a computer like this for battery life though), No express 54 slot, can't add a 2nd internal drive on the production model from Best Buy.

Summary Overall it is a wonderful performing laptop. My cons are more of a picky nature than any thing else. The feature set and performance have been very good. I have even used it to transfer and encode some HD footage from a professional video camera. It performed as well as one of my video workstations at work.

Cons Only 2 things really that are cons to me:
Wish the keys light up
wish it had ddr3 sdram( it has ddr2 sdram)

Summary I use this laptop for home and for working on projects with pictures,video and graphics. I was so on buying a macbook pro, but what caught my eye on this SONY AW was you get alot more for your money for a little less money then a mac,plus sonystyle.com has 18 months free intrest compared to 60 days free intrest at apple.com. I have had this for a week now and its simply amazing.Runs very quietly and fast. Sony has done a great job with this 18 inch hd laptop.
