"Excellent laptop!"on by nxman
Pros Legendry keyboad, Top built quality, Good price!
Cons Little thick, No HDMI
Summary Bought this laptop 1 month ago no problems at all it has the best keyboard I ever used in a laptop and built quality is top, zero flexing when applying pressure at the keyboard and the palm rest even when applying high pressure at the LCD back cover there is no distortion at the LCD, it runs cool and quiet this is what I want in a laptop the only cons are thickness and the lack of HDMI port all in all excellent product in an affordable price.
Pros Decent performance; good screen resolution
Cons Installed software; some usability perks; too little RAM
Summary Performance is ok. Screen resolution is very good, but it seems a little dark to me.
The usb sockets and the dvd drive are very badly placed if you're right handed and using an external mouse...
It comes preinstalled with tons of crappy and mostly useless "ThinkAdvantage" software, and adding Vista to that, once you boot it up you're left with little or no memory.
So, the first thing done was removing all that parasite software and adding another 1GB of RAM.
And then there's Vista. Oh my. Rebooting takes ages, when it doesn't hang, which is 50% of the time. Frenquently files get locked and I have to REBOOT (that's right, reboot!) to be able to delete it. Add that to the memory it takes up, and if this wasn't my company laptop, I'd have already formatted the drive and installed XP.
So, in conclusion, the hardware isn't bad, and actually performs ok, but it needs more RAM, and a good cleanup of the pre-installed software and OS.
Pros large widescreen display, 2 gbs of ddr2 memory, dedicated intel mobile chipset graphics..
Cons not many, but it is slow if not paired up with a good os..
Summary i have been using my lenovo r61 for quite some time, and i see no major faults in it..
being just 17, me and all youngsters want their computers right up to the mark and want it really fast...
its true that it is slow at times, but that is because it is a very old pc and comes with windows xp..
i replaced my os with a copy of windows 7 ultimate and wooosh!!!
everything is as fast as it can get!!
i can now handle the biggest of operations in a jiffy!!
i love the way it works..cheers lenovo!!
Pros moderate performance, good at dropping in/out of standby, sturdy, big screen
Cons not a high performance machine by any stretch, clunky, screen is large but not particularly high resolution
Summary ok business laptop; this laptop (and to be fair almost all PC laptops) are starting to look pathetic next to the iPad that i'm seeing at more and more business meetings. This laptop is good for crunching big spreadsheets back at the office, but heavy to travel with and not impressive in a customer meeting
Pros Excellent Build, Performance well worth more then what I paid for it
Cons No cons in my book
Summary sturdy, excellent performance and reliability......thinkpad may not have the fancy looks but performance and durability is what Im after and this fit my needs perfectly when carrying it daily the "pretty computers" cant handle it but thinkpads can, and look like a business computer should.
