Summary I purchased a lenovo z565 a few months ago. The computer suddenly stopped working. The computer has never been on the internet, and has never been dropped or damaged in any way. Since I am past the Best Buy return period, I called Lenovo. I was told that this has been an ongoing issue with the Windows 7 installed on this particular machine. However, I would have to pay 59.99 for a recovery disc. Word of advice to anyone purchasing this product, DON'T. Lenovo is useless, I am a Toshiba client, and decided to give Lenovo a shot. Lesson learned. If you do purchase this product create a recovery disc day 1.
Pros It has a sleek design
Pretty quick even with multiple programs and double-digit browser tabs open
Keys are responsive but quiet
Spill-proof keyboard design
Cons One more USB port would have been nice.
Speakers could be upgraded a bit
Can be hard to tell if the power is on when you hit the on button.
Summary I was buying a new laptop under duress -- the one I had suddenly quit, and since it was my only computer, I needed a replacement, even if I sent mine in for repair. I had no desire to drop a lot of money on a new laptop, so when I went in search of one, this one seemed to be a nice fit of affordability and performance. I brought it home and have been completely satisfied with it -- so much so, my old laptop will not become the backup.
