  • "impressed. more than what was expected."

Pros great price. 4.1 speaker/sub. sleek design, power saving button in 3 modes

Cons no bluetooth (at least for my model), touch sensitive media controls are hard to press.

Summary i'm very impressed with this laptop. i got this for 600.. i was iffy at first because it packed so much for such a low price so i assumed the build quality would be compromised. however, the lack of bluetooth made me use a usb receiver for my microsoft bt mouse5000 which does not need a usb receiver if the computer has bluetooth. also, the touch sensitive controls are not very..well.. sensitive. they look cool but too hard to press.
the slick black design with the textured casing is very different from the usual computers out there. the hinge is also a unique twist from the norm. i needed a computer for work (and work break) so the usual word processing was needed but i didnt want an ugly thinkpad to lug around although i've heard very good stability recognition about them. this computer is perfect for me. it combines functionality, value, and bonus features for leisure. oh i forgot to mention the webcam. it has a webcam. oh and a dvd-rw i think. i dont use them much so i don't care but it will be a pleasant surprise later if it does.
this laptop is great for budgetminded users who want something sleek and functional all in one deal.
i gave this a 9 for the price point-to-features ratio...with the lack of bluetooth in such feature-packed computer.

Pros none ..ok a screen could be less brighter

Cons maybe a lil bit heavy, but who cares !

Summary Beautiful, great face recognition program used for users verification and GREAT home theater speakers in such a cheap laptop.
I have this laptop one month and I love it.
Everything works perfect.Very responsive keys, easy access media buttons, awesome speakers, even the screen looks wider than other laptops I 've seen.I love my Y510!!

  • "Experiences in having an Ideapad Y510"
    on by narainz

Pros Excellent Audio and which has 4 speakers and a subwoofer, face recognition software is something new

Cons The place where you rest your palm to type gets overheated. If the system come out of sleep mode, the face recognition software doesnot work, it hangs and you have to press switchuser and then get back

Summary Good configuraion laptop. Excellent keyboard layout and face recognition software. You can also monitor who comes to your laptop and meddles with it when you are not around with the motion sensor webcam. Excellent 4 speaker with subwoofer which has 5:1 dolby surround sound. The down side is the place where you keep your left palm while typing gets overheated and thats really an irritation(left of touch pad) . Its a silent laptop which has energy cut software which lets you either set the laptop to high performance or in quiet mode depending on the tasks you are performing on the laptop.

  • "Great Speakers, Keyboard, Screen"

Cons Blutooth, i want 1 more USB

Summary I got what i want in Cheap

  • "Powerful laptop that with slight design issues"
    on by hipster23

Pros Laptop itself is powerful. Never really had any problems with it in terms of freezing or slowing down.

Cons There seems to be a trade off with design though. For instance, like many other lenovos, my laptop also suffers from a weak hinge (laptop wont stay open, it either flops backwards or forwards). And the screen covering the LCD is popping out. The keyboard

Summary While powerful in performance, the lenovo y510 suffers from many design weaknesses.
