"Great Tablet"on by awilson3342
Pros Almost everything
Cons No bluetooth on mine, small track pad
Summary I traded my larger hp notebook for this mainly because i was looking for something smaller and lighter. So far, this has done EVERYTHING that my hp had done with little to no trouble. I have mine fully loaded (max ram, max hd etc) and performs well. Love the apps it comes with for the tablet mode as well as some of the great software that comes on board such as the face recognition for logging on. It even handles some of the games i enjoy like minecraft! :D My only problem would be the small trackpad but i can use touch screen and i usually have an external mouse hooked up for the software i use. I have many comments on how cool it is. No regrets on trading it.
Pros small, slim, 8 cell battery,,
Cons comes with 7 starter, which is a pain unless you make some upgrades like getting 2GBS of RAM and upgrading the OS, im using 7 Home Premium and im happy ;p
Summary good computer to surprise with the touchscreen and easy to carry around the college ;p
"Netbook/tablet mix"on by likurge
Pros Have a touchscreen but it's a real computer with normal OS.
Cons At start bad software optimization and luck of memory (on 1GB model)
Summary After mem upgrade and preinstalled software optimization it works just excellent.
Pros brought because of touch function turns out that worst thing this netbook ideapad is slower and hangs more than my compaq 700mhz laptop. buy ideapad s10-3t= $$$$$ down the drain
Cons buy ideapad s10-3t= $$$$$ down the drain .
Summary buy ideapad s10-3t= $$$$$ down the drain
Pros Good Battery Life (8-cell), Love the touch screen, keyboard is nice, good screen quality
Cons Upgrade fixed all the cons- sluggish, track pad non responsive, keyboard didn't work well, weird webcam placement,
Summary Before the upgrade I had Windows 7 Starter (BLECK) I felt like I had wasted my money. The keyboard sometimes just wouldn't work- wrong letters would come up or sometimes every key would be a number (numlock was not on). Track pad was also unrepsonsive. Firefox would crash on websites like googlemaps and it was unbearably sluggish. Touchscreen was basically useless. I don't know much about computers but I read up and ordered 2G DDR2 RAM ($43 from crucial) and upgraded (through my school for free) to Windows 7 Enterprise. I also deleted all the unnecessary fluff programs like Veriface and Veritouch which slow down start up. Now, I couldn't be happier. The RAM worked like a charm. I am so happy, it is super speedy now. Also the Windows 7 Enterprise upgrade is so much better for the touchscreen. Through that whole upgrade, every single problem I was having was fixed and now I couldn't be happier. As long as you get rid of Windows 7 Starter and install the 2G, I would definitely recommend this computer, otherwise, don't even think about it.
(I primarily use this netbook for downloading lectures for school and taking notes).
