  • "Gave it back"
    on by NoMoreHP

    Pros nice 17" monitor

Cons I had to give it back.

Summary I got this Laptop from Staples, I wanted to upgrade to a bigger monitor and they had a good deal, it did sound like a good idea. One hour after first starting it the monitor went black, just for few sec, I actually didn't think much of it, a little later it did it again, the next time the system crashed !! Next morning same problem all over, I start looking into the error message and figure out that the problem was with the graphic card so I got on the phone with HP, after 2 days of frustration (the poor thing just keept on crashing) I decided that to go take it on Staples and I have to say they offered to excange it no question asked. Went back home all happy and with a new laptop, turn it on and guess what, same story all over, all support could and wanted to do was to wipe memory off, I keep on telling them the problem was the graphic card, not with the hard drive and they insured me I was the only poor costumer that ever had this problem (with 2 computers, lucky me). Anyways I went back to Staples, got my money back (one more time no to many question asked). This was my first HP, I have a feeling this will me my last HP.

  • "Great desktop replacement no complaints after 4 months"
    on by lostzero

Pros Awesome sharp display, sleek and very eye appealing notebook. Has plenty of horse power to play games, movies, programs. I opted to replace Vista Home with Server 2008 Enterprise 64 Bit, everything works like a charm with no problems.

Cons As in the review the metallic finish leaves finger prints easily, however it comes with a cleaning cloth.

Summary Great desktop replacement for the money and should last several years, plus after around 1.5-2 years you can upgrade the ram to 8GBs to extend the life of the notebook.

  • "Worst keyboard I've ever seen"
    on by Flektonfan

Pros Computer performs well in terms of speed and smooth operation.

Cons The keys on the keyboard require you to strike the key on the dead center of each key, otherwise nothing happens. Typing on this computer is harder than it was on the old-fashioned 1960s typewriters that used ribbon. The function keys (F1, F2, F3, etc.) r

  • "Great value laptop"
    on by Zendarin

Pros Runs Windows 7 like a dream. Very fast, beautiful graphics. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I can play WOW in spite of embedded video - as long as I turn the graphics down to bare minimum. Increased site distance by 1 click without much performa

Cons Embedded graphics card barely handles online games.
HDMI out doesn't carry audio signal unless playing blu-rays. Royal pain to try and get decent sound.

Summary This laptop sells very inexpensively these days and is an incredible value. Highy recommended for anyone EXCEPT hard core gamers.

  • "Great Desktop Replacement"
    on by glehel

    Pros Great monitor, fast, functional

    Cons big and heavy

Summary Had it for 4 months, no issues. Works like a champ! Best PC of any kind I've ever owned.
