For the price, the HP DV7-1020US has (so far) proven to be a really good gaming laptop. It runs Unreal Tournament 3 and Gears of War really well. I've got a few more games to install: Call Of Duty 4, Warhammer, etc. But I'm sure they'll run fine. Running mulitple programs is also not a problem.
The touch sensitive media buttons were a bit unresponsive at first, but after a few days you get used to them. My order came with a TV-tuner and two remote controls, a pair of HP ear-buds and a cloth for cleaning (trust me, it gets alot of fingerprints!). HP chose not to include a recovery disk with the included hardware, but you can optionally create one. The built in webcam also works great with Skype, MSN & Yahoo.
Again with the Cons, despite not having DDR2 the laptop runs pretty fast. Also if you're not too meticulous about your laptop being clean all the time, the fingerprints aren't that big a deal. Most crapware that comes with the computer can be removed as well.
All in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to someone looking for a relatively affordable 17inch wide screen laptop.
