Works well with Windows Vista. No hardware incompatibility issues yet.
Remote control for HP MediaSmart should have been bigger. 2 hours battery life, are you kidding?

I bought this HP laptop as an upgrade to my ageing Dell Inspiron that I bought 5 years ago. In fact I bought it for $699.00 as a package with Nintendo Wii. It was originally sold without the package at $899.00 from BestBuy.com. A best buy indeed. I choosed this over a few contenders having that price range and product specification.
I wanted a laptop that would meet my software requirements such as working with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and a plethora of Audio-video synthesizers. I also test software for cross-platform environment. So I decided to give HP a shot. And this is the best shot I've ever had. I've done working extensively with Dell notebooks, some Acers, and Toshiba notebook as well.
Hardware specs of this laptop is excellent: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Optical Drive Type: DVD Super Multi, Resolution: 1366 x 768, LCD Features: LED backlight & BrightView, WLAN: 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN
Bluetooth: Yes, Webcam: Yes, with Intell dual core, a whopping 4Gig memory and an almost half terabyte of hard disk space.
Having said that, I also want to raise some issues that HP should look into for future improvement. HP should use batteries that could last at least 6 hours of uninterrupted computing as a standard for all models. This HP model comes only with 2-hour battery life. The remote control, yes, there is a tiny remote control that comes with this model for HP MediaSmart. It should have been bigger. Currently it comes half the size of a credit card.
But my overall impression: I can say that HP Pavillion ranks as one of the best laptops in its class in terms of durability, ease of use, customer service, hardware specs, and over all price.
