Pros -Looks like nothing else
-Speakers not bad atall for a laptop
Cons -Battery Life could be a bit better
-No TV tuner available when I purchased
-Touch controls cool, but iffy
Summary I LOVE this laptop! I spent a good month doing research (as this was my first laptop, but not my first computer by any means), and found this unit DV5Tse when it instantly caught my attention on HP's website. I configured it to my liking (Wireless N, Blu-Ray, 4GB, 300 GB, HD display) and then ran a quick google search for discounts, Boy was I surprised when my $1250 laptop came down to $850 with tax/shipping after finding a promo code on a random website! I was so happy!
I used this laptop for my schoolwork at first but now Its becoming my everything computer! Would definitely buy again!
Pros Blu-Ray player;
Different performance modes to increase performance or battery life;
The feel of the keyboard, feels great while typing;
Standard 4GB RAM standard, ability to expand to 8GB
Cons Memory usage: Using upwards of 45% memory with just Firefox open
Battery Life: Power save mode gets maybe 1.5-2 hours at most, performance mode nets half that.
No Vista installation CD's, only a partition created by HP
Summary The Pros more than outweigh the cons, but that being said, don't buy this computer if you're not going to use the blu-ray player. When playing a blu-ray movie, make sure the computer is set to high performance mode to avoid video lag. Also think about picking up an extended battery if you plan to use this on a long trip where you don't have constant access to an outlet. I'm considering upping the memory to 8GB because I usually have a few applications open at the same time, and to increase the overall performance of the computer. I've had this computer for almost a year and have already recommended this for purchase to three friends with similar computer interests.I only rated the computer 3.5 out of 5 due mainly to the battery life. If it came with a better battery I would have rated it at a 4.5; the other .5 deduction for memory usage.

Pros I love the sleek design and lighting on this laptop. Blu-ray is nice if you have an HDMI cord and HDTV like I do. This is the first HP that I have enjoyed.
Cons This laptop runs hot! I have to keep mine on a cooling fan as much as possible. The touch volume controls can get a little sketchy if you run your finger down the bar rather than pressing the plus/minus. And I would like a better resolution screen.
Summary Tons of ports. Great look. Solid construction. I enjoy the glossy mirrored finish of the touch pad and keys, though they do show finger-prints very well...nothing a quick wipe down wont fix. I just cant get over how hot this one runs, but that may be an issue with mine since it wasnt mentioned in the review. Overall a great laptop
"Well worth the $1000"on by Coop39
Pros Pros: Nice look, great battery life with 12 cell, decent speaker performance
Cons None so far
Summary I bought a similarly configured unit as the one reviewed, except I prurchased the upgraded monitor/resolution. With my employee discount it was $930; well worth the money. I assume the unit was reviewed with a 6 cell battery. 6 cell batteris suck. Spend $70 and get the 12 cell. I get great battery life with the 12 cell. The previous reviewer mentioning inconsistent internet reception. That's and issue with vista, not the laptop. And sure, the 9200 graphics card isn't made for heavy gaming. Why criticize the gaming performance with the 9200 card. If you want to game, upgrade to the 9600. This is the same for any manufacturer, not just HP.
In summary, if you want a laptop for everyday use and not heavy gaming, I think this laptop with the 7350 processor, upgraded monitor, 3 GB of RAM, 12 cell battery, and 9200 graphics card for around $1000 is a great deal.
Pros great sound, nice speakers, really clear pictures, nice look, decently fairly fast
Cons battery life can be short, very short like an hour and 30 minutes
clicker isnt 'silent' just muted
sometimes it sucks at hawking for the internet and staying with the connection
can get booted off of internet sometimes
Summary its not worth 1250 but i got it for a 1050 on sale so only buy it if its for sale
though i heard the hp pavilion dv6985se is just as good and cheaper
