Pros it has a decent graphics card and great wifi the lcd screen blows me away and the mouse pad is very unique and the keybored is great also theres not many cons i can say about it the hotkeys on the side are very helpful

    on by bzowy07

Pros I like the way the mouse moves and the way the monitor expands or minimizes the windows if you drag it. Also, the cute things you can do with the webcam works for my pictures and videos. I was able to buy it at staples on sale for 429 dollars.

Cons I don't particulary like the sound system but it works just fine.

Summary It was worth every cent

  • "The mouse really kills it for me"
    on by dirty55409

Pros The screen is beautiful for a lower priced laptop. The bezel around the screen is a nice look. The keyboard is good as well. Performance wise it is a good for music encoding, video watching, web browsing, and for doing homework.

Cons touchpad and buttons are terrible. Using it for a lot of click drag interaction proved to be a headache and an obnoxious task. I would never buy this laptop solely for that purpose.

Summary The touchpad in a laptop is your primary form of interaction with the computer. The two mouse buttons are also very very important for quick response and fluid control of the environment you are working in. This laptop fails miserably in both the function of the touchpad and the two touchpad buttons. Actually. The two buttons are actually one wide button that totters between the two sides for responses. It's terrible. My cashier at work bought this computer without my oversight and I told her I would never have let her buy this computer. The main problem with touchpads like this is that you can't tell where the touchpad begins and ends. I've seen flat touchpad surfaces like this where there are no edges. But the touchpad surface is always a different texture than the rest of the armrest area. That way you KNOW where it is! This laptop has the whole area the same texture so you just slide off where the response drops off. If you ever have to take your eyes off the screen to look at where to put your finger you lose time and that will annoy you over and over again.

Performance wise yes the laptop can work. If you feel comfortable using an external mouse by all means use one. But I never consider buying a laptop that I can't use on my LAP. Simple as that. You get a laptop so you can use it on the go without necessarily having a desk to work with. A laptop should stand on its own without needing extra peripherals. In that respect this laptop fails to impress. There are many other laptops in this price range that will fulfill your needs just as well and with less frustration.

  • "Laptop completely broke down in 2 months."
    on by EMUMA

Pros NONE! THIS COMPUTER IS JUNK!

    Cons Technical Problems
    Computer Freezes
    Customer Service is Terrible
Hard Disk Broke in less than a year and a half

Summary DO NOT BUY AN HP! HP makes Junk computers and won't stand behind their products. My laptop has broken down twice in less than a year and a half. The first time it totally stopped working in 2 months. I then had to argue with HP customer service for 45 minutes in order for them to honor the warranty. The customer service representative had suck a thick accent that I couldn't understand what she was saying most of the time (Gotta love outsourcing). The disk drive broke in a year and 2 months. Now that it is out of warranty HP wants to charge me $150.00 for a new disk drive when I can purchase a new computer for $300 bucks. I will be buying a new laptop, and I guarantee that it will NOT be an HP. I will never buy another HP product as long as I live, and I will make sure that none of my family or freinds ever purchase an HP product. HP products and service are the worst I have ever dealt with.

  • "I use it as desktop and love it."

Pros Stylish design. Love the side buttons, easy email and web access from them. I have had no problems with touch typing.

Cons On the big side for transportation or travel.

    Summary Great computer. Works wonderfully.
