"Great Build Quality and Value for Money and Performance"
on by aabakhshiPros Build quality is Great. The 16" Wide Screen is awsome.I love the seperate # keyboard gives a lot of room and feel like of a Desktop Keyboard. Lightscribe feature of DVD is excellent. It is my 3rd laptop and much better than my Toshiba & Dell.
Cons Missing Lock of screen when you close it. You have to close it very gently and your kid would be able to open the screen.(at least my 14 months older can do)
Summary It is my 3rd Laptop and I am pretty happy with the performance. If you are looking to buy a decent quality machine, then this is the one you should invest into. Got at $620 at Circuit city and I am glad that I did buy it. Got another one for my wife too..
Keyboard is good and crisp gives ample room to type, Display Quality is great,Wifi is superb and Battery runs for more than 1.5 hrs, Overall finish is Good. Great Buy. -

"Many, many, many problems"
on by Slick58Pros It looks nice.
Cons Computer quit working after 3 weeks. Would not start up, could not be restored, could not be recovered. Very poor customer service from HP.
Summary After 3 weeks of use, the computer stopped working. HP support said do a system restore...would not restore. HP support said do a system recovery from D drive...would not recover. HP support said do a system recovery from factory disks (shipped to me since they don't include them with purchase)...would not recover. Sent in for factory repair, came back non functional, and covered with chips and scratches. Sent in again for repair...replaced my HP case with a Compaq case (HP inside, Compaq outside). Still would not function...Internet Exporer would not work, Norton would not open. Promised a new one by service rep...3 weeks later, no replacement...terrible product and service.

"Poor Quality"
on by momteach33Pros Easy to work on, numeric keypad is great
Cons Lots of part failures: battery, hard drive, monitor (twice),camera
Summary I purchased this computer from Office Depot in May, 2009. It is for personal use and is well taken care of. The first year the battery died and the hard drive crashed. The second year the LCD died. All of these were replaced under warranty. Just after the warranty ended the camera quit and now the LCD has quit. HP offered to sell me a new monitor with camera and microphone for $180 with a year warranty, but I still have to pay to have it installed. Since both monitors lasted just over a year, I think I will purchase a new computer.

"Once I Upgraded to Windows 7 Professional I liked it."
on by uesspoPros Snappy machine after the first install of windows 7 Professional. Use to stream Netflix, youtube + various streaming media -> 47 inch Vizio. Is a productivity force, can work comfortably in easy-chair no eye strain, back, neck issues.
Cons Came w/Vista so I C/T Win7 Pro 64. Had to send it to HP twice for repair. I upgraded to Win7 Professional and all that stopped. It slowed down when I loaded the .net framework and Windows Moviemaker. Is still choice over Ps3 and N100 media boxes.
Summary (My machine is the G60-243CL purchased from Costco) A nice clean answer once I dumped HP's proprietary software and did a clean install of Win7 Pro 64 bit. Has n-Wi-Fi and HDMI to Vizio, SD Card Reader, 3 USB 2 ports, VGA port and DVD player/burner. I use a Microsoft wireless keyboard to hammer out code and content and utilize my machine. This machine has brought me into the higher world of the new age of communication allowing rapid access to online email and social networks connecting me to more information than I had ever dreamed of accessing. I don't really use it as a portable device but instead use it like a desktop machine. I have a netbook and an older Compaq Presario if I really need portability. I actually feel like I over use it for streaming media and video's but that's me and I have purchased 2 sony devices to change my habits a bit. I'm now using the sony PS3 slim and SMP 100 to stream media, but without the ease of use of my laptop I keep switching back to my HP or should I call it my "Windows Professional 7" Laptop. After all HP did assemble the machine and install Vista.
