"Great for the price"on by winejab
Pros Fast. Came with Windows 7 upgrade. HDMI to connect to external source. The keypad on the side is an extra bonus. No upgrading necessary other than a wireless mouse.
Cons The keys on the keyboard seem kind of cheap compared to my other laptop.
Summary For $450 shipped I would definitely buy again. I'm happy with the laptop overall and with Windows 7.
Pros It is fast, the hardrive is more than sufficient, great display, I was able to put XP on it with minor complications it is just a great computer!
Cons The power cord cracked and frayed 14 months after the purchase and was not covered under warranty. I did repair it myself and it still works great till this day.
Summary HP = Horrible Product is a stupid saying and I think the person who started this and had issues with thier computer just doesn't know how to operate it.

Pros still runs after being flung down an entire flight of stairs, lightweight, good storage, processor and memory are upgradeable, intergraded memory card reader, burner with lightscribe technology.
Cons does tend to get warm, not great on battery life, needs better ventilation, and hp's customer care for lack of a better word is just plain awful
Summary All in all for what I paid for this laptop is was definitly a good buy and worth the money. I can't believe after going down an entire flight of stairs while powered on, nothing was damaged, apart from the hard drive burping once in a while. There not even single dead pixel on the display, or anything unseated off the motherboard. That says alot for HP's quailty when it comes to the constuction of their laptops. I've not heard too many people say their laptop survived such a trip. It has taken quite a few plunges since then since it lives with a toddler. I eventually replaced my burping hard drive because I wasn't about to pay hp for their accidental care warranty when it's price tag was almost as much as the purchase price of the laptop after the rebates I received. However the cost of the hard drive was 60 dollars and it was the exact same hard drive that came in the laptop. So if you are somewhat ok with computers and want a cheap laptop that you can upgrade the processor and memory for less than it would be to buy a laptop with a more expensive processor and more memory it's an excellent buy. Besides I don't know many computer companys tech support that are useful these days anyway I seem to end up fixing all of my problems myself and teaching them the solution and not the other way around. I would reccommend upgrading to windows 7 if you end up purchasing one that still has vista installed as I believe HP is still offering free upgrades and this was one of the qualifying models. So great budget laptop but I only reccommend for users that are comfortable getting their hands dirty if something goes awry.
Pros It is simple to operate. It cruises the web quickly. The screen is bright and clear. The keys on the full 101 key keyboard are easy to find. It does not come loaded down with very much useless software.
Cons I feel it should have dedicated volume control keys instead of hot keys. Also I find when closed, the keys touch the screen slightly.
Summary If you are not a computer genius and you are in search of a low cost reliable computer to surf the web with, the G60-230US is an ideal computer to consider.
Pros I liked everything about it.
Cons I have never had a single problem with this laptop.
