Pros Keyboard is nice to type on. Battery Life is good about the same as my older mbp. Price is outstanding for a core i5 system with all the bells and whistles. I have the beats edition, I payed 897 bucks for it.

Cons Screen is a little glossy for my taste, of course the keypad that everyone complains about, Red backlight is sometimes hard to see in the dark.

Summary The black stuff on the keyboard seems to leave a film when typing for a long time.Have to clean it a lot. It is a little thick as well my 2 year old MCP seems very thin when compared to this.I wanted a windows machine instead of having to use bootcamp and remapping all the keys to windows functions. The hardware in this machine is awesome. I have ripped dvd's while surfing the web and listening to music without a slowdown. Seems to be very little HP crapware on it, there is some but it is very little. It also came with Photoshop elements and Premiere elements which is a nice touch. Great machine for the money ! I am selling my 2 year old MBP and it will pay for this laptop. Can't beats that with a stick !

    Pros -Backlit Keyboard
    -Design
    -Processor (i5 580m)
    -Graphics
    -Price was fairly good
    -Excellent build quality
    -Solid

Cons -No radiance display (beating a dead horse, I know)
    -Fingerprints easily (duh)
    -None others yet.

Summary I got this for $999 with a $300 coupon off of a $1299 build. It does everything that I need very well with excellent speed. It doesn't feel like the average cheap HP build quality. Much better looks than the MacBook, better specs, and a better price.

  • "The coolest, best performing Laptop I have ever owned!"

Pros This laptop is solidly built. Keyboard is a joy to type on. The best I have ever seen. I have had everybrand of laptop and HP has outdone everyone with this laptop. Material is the most solid I have ever seen.

Cons The touch pad could use some driver improvement.

Summary The best laptop out right now. There has never been such a great combination so well balanced all around. What more can I say other than I love it. My mac book is on ebay everyone. HP will improve on the touch pad driver for for the Envy line. I can guarantee you. Then this is the perfect laptop. Battery life for me has been better than average. I don't know what everyone else is complaining about. Gaming on battery power I assume.

Just for toppers. I have been Jamming Black ops on this laptop and it is doing great!. The explosions and sound with the heads phones is awesome. Play is smooth and seemless. The Hardware is not complaining one bit. Your right leg does get a little warm but I am not miding that a bit!!! Just thought everyone should know. The proof is in the pudding.

Pros This is the one PC laptop to rule them all. First of all, computing power. The Envy 14 has crazy awesome processing. I can run Photoshop, a DVD burner, Netflix, and a virtual Linux machine all at once with zero lag. Games perform great as well. Mass Effec

Cons The battery. Oh god, the battery. When they say "4 hours" that means 4 hours with no Wifi, Bluetooth, brightness to zero, low graphics, and no CPU-intensive programs. Running the Envy 14 with the good stuff lasts maybe 1.5 hours. Usually less. That awesom

Summary All in all, the benefits greatly outweigh the minor downsides. Once I started using this laptop, I fell in love. The Envy 14 is certainly a beast of a computer, but you can go buy a netbook if you want portability and battery.

The best part is the Envy 14's versatility. It does writing, gaming, Netflix, DVDs, and literally everything I can think of. Still trying to find this computer's limits.

The Envy 14 didn't just meet my expectations, it blew them to pieces. If you want a computer that can go toe-to-toe with a Mac for a fraction of the price, this is it.
