"Great Slate"on by Hardwarenutz
Pros Very Portable
Cons Hard to see in daylight
Summary I use mine as my Desktop at the office, Docked with 19" monitor, wireless keyboard and Mouse. Works flawlessly. On the road to input all handwritten info (Franklin Covey Tablet Planner). At home as my reference computer along side my home desktop to work from home. I also use wireless network and use in the recliner (Zino reader, check email, browse internet).
Keyboard not so great, but with the pen who needs the keyboard. Docked I use wireless keyboards.
The construction is solid, battery is fair to good. Performance has been excellent.
Pros Almost all the features of a laptop but more portable
Cons External CD drive, Tap Tap Tap keyboard gets old fast
Summary I got this as a graduation gift, and I have to admit it's pretty useful, plus I get all sorts of attention for having some so different. I like how you can just pull the top off and carry it around, it makes reading e-books and taking notes super easy. Despite it's size it's pretty fast and for running everyday windows programs it's no problem at all...
However if you decide to remove the keyboard, it's a real headache to tap tap tap each letter of the alphabet and if you try to use the handwriting recognition box proofreading everything gives you a headache. Also the external cd drive is a bit cumbersome, but overall it's a great 2nd laptop but it would probably never replace my desktop or my laptop
"What a COOL TOY!"on by Kelroth
Pros Small and light
Cons Low RAM in the bast model (The One I purchused)
Summary I love this toy, it's like taking a $2K HP ipaq and stretching the screen and giving it a better processor. I just wish it had a GeForce 6800 Go insted of the GeForce 440 Go but overall it was a sweet toy
Pros Nothing is extra, comes equipped to the gills with all contectivity and the 512RAM 30GB HD is plenty. Only thing i bought extra is the dock. Perfect as an education computer, take notes in class, edit papers with the attached keyboard, attach to full siz
Cons comes with some low end voice command software that is lack luster in ability. Is pricy.
Pros Functional and portable
Cons Terrible screen, limited upgrades, expensive upgrades. Customer service is terrible.
Summary This is only one of several functional and portable computers, and this is just about all this model has going for it.
The screen has a yellowish hue and not completely sparkle-free, though much reduced from the previous TC1000. One can only purchase use HP wireless mini-pci cards; and if you try using other cards, you'll get a 104 unsupported wireless card error and your computer will refuse to start. In other words, one must use HP's more expensive cards for the comparable functionality. Likewise, other accessories are expensive and not really worth considering. Finally, after killing an entire morning with HP's poor customer service and maze of departments I kept getting handed off to, I may never purchase another HP product again on this alone! Check out Dell or Fujitsu.
