  • "Great combo of features for the price."

Pros Just about everything considering the price.

Cons The exterior is prone to fingerprints. So?

Summary Can't go wrong here. I got this for my girl and all she does is itunes, web surfing, word processing and pictures. Works flawlessly so far.

  • "Not a bad laptop"
    on by mcmxl

Pros Has all the basics-nice bright screen, DVD/CD R/W, good keyboard layout, decent HD, good amnt of RAM (expandable to 4 GB), and no web cam!

Cons Non yet. Although friends tell me to stay away from COMPAQ, but I might be able to prove them wrong.

Summary I was looking for a laptop WITHOUT a web cam-almost all of them these days have one. This had good reviews on CNET an I'm glad so far I bought it.

  • "Decent laptop"

    Pros Number pad
    Design
    Build quality
    screen size

    Cons Battery life
    Touch pad buttons
    Low ram
    Performance

Summary I have owned this laptop for about 4 years and it still hasn't broke down. I'm actually quite impressed. The major problem with this laptop is the battery life. Right now I can only last about 1 hour on battery before it dies. I'm a video editor and Photographer so I use a lot of software from Adobe. I have After effects and Photoshop installed. Photoshop runs smoothly along with After effects. But in After effects the ram preview takes a long time due to the fact that the laptop only has a 2Gb ram. If you going to be doing editing and photography I suggest get a better laptop with more ram, storage, and a faster processor. But overall this laptop covers the basics. Pleases with the purchase. But I will be upgrading laptops and leaving this Compaq Presario to the side. RIP .

  • "Good laptop for the price."

Pros Nice large keyboard, decent wrist rest, love the number key pad to the right, the wi-fi on/off switch, and the big display.

Cons No web cam built in, the battery doesn't seem to last very long, and would like more memory (RAM) built in.

Summary A decent computer for the home user who doesn't do a lot of gaming. My son watches a lot of You Tube on it without problems, the family does web surfing, and it's great for home personal use using Office and other programs.

I didn't like the built-in mouse though, so we bought a small Logitech that works out better for us. I also have a small external hard drive that I store large programs, downloads, pictures, music and files on, and that seems to keep the hard drive running at optimal performance.

Pros Exelent build quality, great "personal" (no gaming or hyper preformance) computer.

Cons No Hdmi out, low preformance parts but upgradeables.

Summary A good full size laptop to have, mine is almos two years old and after memory upgrade and system restore run like a i7.
