Summary Bought this PC as a good $300 replacement for my daily use - surfing, editing, videos, etc. It has decent credentials and I have not observed the heat related issues that MANY reviews note. I thought I would be lucky... but not so! This unit performs extremely bad under any circumstance. Several other laptops and a MAC Pro work fine on my network, but this one does not. Both Firefox and IE (with several service patches installed) cannot open more than a few tabs. Youtube cannot play reliably, volume is erratic, the stupid transparancy of Windows 7 will show background under a stable window, the CTL-C/CTL-V for cut and paste will frequently NOT work. It does not crash (big deal), but the programs will just degrade over minutes to an hour until a reboot is required. DO NOT BUY THIS PC.... EVEN FOR YOUR MOST VILE HATED ENEMY!!
Pros Looks good, good price, and worked good for the first two days.
Cons Started having thermal shutdowns after day two even though I use it on a laptop cooling pad. I am in the process of sending it back for either a replacement or repair. They better not even think of making me pay the return shipping as this is my second HP
Summary I checked reviews on this HP 630 laptop after the fact, and found lots of people are having the same problem I am with the thermal shutdown issue. HP should recall this item and stop causing they're customers all these hassles. They have to know there are issues with this model.
Pros Fast and responds quickly to my commands.Cheap in terms of its features.
Cons It freezes from time time. Its back surface scratches easily. It is not good at all when it comes to playing games. When playing a game the computer shutdown especially during the summer due to overheating.
Summary HP 630 is not a good option at all. It is a bad quality computer with poor performance.

Summary When I ordered this laptop, I didn't realize that I was ordering a nightmare for me. The laptop came with many problems. Within 2 months of purchase, the hard-disk crashed. I really had hard time with HP customer care guy. They were not able to understand my problem. It took me 5 days to make them understand the problem. They replaced my hard disk in Oct'2011 and the new hard disk crashed again on 8th Aug. It didn't last event one year. Now they are saying I have to pay $156 for new hard disk as the laptop is not under warranty. It seems like HP is selling junk to its customers and is doing everything to make customers suffer.
One thing is sure that I am never going to buy/recommend any HP product in my whole life. The junk company selling junk to customers.
